10 Things to do in Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and, with a population of over eleven million inhabitants, by far its largest city. Its high-rise buildings, heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife may not immediately give you the best impression — but don't let that mislead you. It is one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, authentic canals, busy markets and a vibrant nightlife that has something for everyone. Visit Bangkok and Enjoy the Culture and Climate of Bangkok. Now you will think what are the things we can do in Bangkok. This are the top 10 Things to do in Bangkok wile you visit Bangkok.

  • Wat Suthat Temple
You will always feels like the real spiritual deal and, even if you never quite properly restored, it showcases lacquer-black chapel walls of magnificently fevered fresco paintings to compete with the best of the Italian Renaissance. Across from the main entrance is a giant red ceremonial swing, a Hindu symbol that became Bangkok's civic emblem for a time. The surrounding streets are among the old city's most atmospheric.

  •  Patravadi Theatre
Just getting to this arts oasis is well worth the trip on river boats to Wang Lang Pier, then past Nonthaburi's earthy markets. Founded by one of Thailand's most revered actresses, the Patravadi is a hip riverside complex, where a theater, rehearsal spaces, gift shop and restaurants sit amid arbors and sculpture. Catch avant-garde dancers or enthusiastic young students giving a dinner show of Thai drumming and acrobatics, all fronting the city's best views of barge traffic and the Grand Palace.

  • Or Tor Gor

Across the road from the exhausting Chatuchak weekend flea market, this farmers' market is a less crowded and far more authentic showcase of both tropical abundance and the Thai sensibility. Better yet, the statements of identity are all edible: take your pick of the kingdom's best green mangoes, grilled prawns and coconut crab curry.

  •  Art and Shopping
Local arts activists fought for decades to get their Guggenheim-aping Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. If there isn't enough on display, cross the sky bridge to the MBK Center where every product known to humanity comes at an aesthetically satisfying discount. Or cross the street to enter the warren of alleys that is Siam Square, where playful fashion shops, some fading art-movie houses and one adventuresome Whitespace art gallery serve as the lively meeting points for Thai youth.
  • Chinatown

Bangkok’s Chinatown is a popular tourist attraction and a food haven for new generation gourmands who flock here after sunset to explore the vibrant street-side cuisine. Packed with market stalls, street-side restaurants and a dense concentration of gold shops, Chinatown is an experience not to miss. The energy that oozes from its endless rows of wooden shop-houses is plain contagious – it will keep you wanting to come back for more.

  •  Wat Pho
Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is located behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and a must-do for any first-time visitor in Bangkok. It's one of the largest temple complexes in the city and famed for its giant reclining Buddha that measures 46 metres long and is covered in gold leaf.
  • Loha Prasat and Pad Thai

The Loha Prasat is one of Bangkok's more eccentric religious buildings, a metal-tipped complex of concentric boxes that resembles the inner sanctum of an Egyptian tomb. If climbing its levels or browsing the adjoining market for outlandishly showy Buddha amulets builds up an appetite, adjoining Mahachai Road just happens to host the Thipsamai restaurant. It's famed for its pad thai, lusciously soft noodles heaped from fiery woks and served with giant prawns and egg as gleaming yellow as the nearby spire of the famed Golden Mount.

  •  Hindu Temple
When Bangkok goes Hindu, it really goes wild. Lower Silom Road's Sri Mariamman is the oldest Hindu temple in Bangkok, devoted to the goddess Uma and a special gathering place for thousands of transsexual devotees. The annual Navratri festival, held every October, sees Pan Road crowded with thousands of fire-eating, powder-dusted worshippers, and the procession of deities is as fervent and frenzied as those anywhere else in South Asia, only more jolly.
  •  Dream World
Thailand's very own Disneyland! If your family enjoys adrenalin-charged theme parks, make sure you take your kids to Dream World. Divided into imaginative areas like Fantasy Land, Dream Garden and Adventure Land, this fun loaded park is perfect for families. There are many other things you should see in Dream World.

  • Lumpini Park
Lumpini Park is an inner-city haven of tranquility, fresh air and shade - offering

city dwellers the perfect connection to nature. Named after the birthplace of the Lord Buddha in Nepal, the park is more than half a million square kilometres big, and the habitat of various flora and fauna.

Lumpini Park has over the years grown into the endearing centre for outdoor leisure activities for Bangkokians, who would convene before and after sunset to enjoy a round of jog, light workout, aerobics and a host of other recreational activities.

10 Good Reasons to Visit Sri Lanka

Visit Sri Lanka its a Oldest Heritage Place. Wile planning for Holidays are you Confused where to go? or You are Planning to Visit Sri Lanka. If So This are the Some Reasons why You Should Visit Sri Lanka.
Set in the Indian Ocean in South Asia, the tropical island nation of Sri Lanka has a history dating back to the birth of time. It is a place where the original soul of Buddhism still flourishes and where nature’s beauty remains abundant and unspoilt.
If golden beaches, rising waves, misty mountains, mighty elephants, stealthy leopards, giant whales, a majestic past, lovely tea and warm smiles could sum up a country, that would be Sri Lanka.
With many sites and scenes bottled up in to a small island, a traveller could be riding the waves in the dawn and admiring the green carpeted mountains by dusk. Travel destinations in Sri Lanka provide an array of holiday experience from sun kissed beach holidays to a marathon of wildlife watching, adrenaline pumping adventure sports and pilgrimage to some of the oldest cities in the world.
The smiles and hospitality of Sri Lanka is world famous and so are its spicy food, exotic fruits and array of sweetmeats found nowhere in the world. With so many cultures living next to each other life in Sri Lanka continues among a series of festivities throughout the year, an ideal recipe for fun and leisure. The Top 10 Reasons why you should Visit Sri lanka are
  1. Diversity:- Sri Lanka is a small miracle partly due to the compact physical
diversity of this pearl-shaped island - but, as we shall see, this diversity extends to virtually every aspect of life. Fringed by variously-shaped sublime beaches, from straight expanse to rocky cove, the island possesses a coastal plain containing a host of geographic features such as lagoons, wetlands, rivers and various types of wildlife-rich jungle.
  2. People:-  Sri Lanka is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural society, a reflection of the island’s encounter with successive foreign immigrants. But it all began with indigenous people, the Veddahs, hunter-gatherers who exist today.
Whatever their situation in society, the people of Sri Lanka possess a warm and friendly nature reflected in persistent smiling faces and
eagerness to help those unfamiliar with aspects of local life. You’ll find that Sri Lankans are very hospitable and take pride in inviting people to their homes, however modest they may be.
  3. Festivals Year Around:-  Sri Lanka’s ancient civilization endows the

island with a legacy of colourful festivals relating to the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Christian religions.Furthermore, these festivals are commemorated with the flair of a people with a genius for pageantry and ritual.
  4. Ayurveda and Spas:-  Sri Lanka has always been a place that refreshes not just the mind and body, but also the soul and spirit. And for thousands of years, the most popular method used to restore and rejuvenate tired bodies and weary souls has been Ayurveda – the oldest and most holistic medical system available in the world.
  5. Wildlife:- The need to conserve the environment was deeply ingrained in traditional Sri Lankan society: in the 3rd c. BC, the country’s first Buddhist monarch established the world’s first wildlife sanctuary. Today, this tradition continues with 13% of Sri Lanka conserved as national
parks, reserves, sanctuaries and jungle corridors.                                                      Sri Lanka possesses a high degree of biodiversity. Indeed the island (together with the Western Ghats of India) has been identified by Conservation International as one of 34 world biodiversity hot spots. In addition, The Sinharaja Forest Reserve, the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. What’s remarkable is the high proportion of endemic species.
  6. Adventure Sports:- With over 1,600km of coast, Sri Lanka is an ideal
location for wind-surfing, water-skiing, surfing, sailing,scuba-diving (including wreck-diving), snorkelling, speed-boating and banana-boating. Prime water-sports sites are located in the Negombo region on the west coast, Wadduwa, Kalutara and Beruwela on the south-western coast, and Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Unawatuna, Koggala, Tangalle and Hambantota on the southern and south-eastern coasts. Water-sports providers are run by local and foreign professionals (including PADI-qualified instructors) and rent state-of-the-art equipment.
  7. Hotels:- Sri Lanka has an assortment of accommodation options. Colombo features not only a host of modern five-star hotels but also iconic colonial-era hotels with the charm and romance of a bygone era.
  8. Food:- The cultivation of many types of rice, spices, vegetables and fruit, coupled with past foreign influences, ensures that Sri Lanka enjoys a varied and select cuisine. As a staple, rice is consumed with an assortment of colourful curries (eggplant, potato, green banana, chicken, fish) that range in potency from delicately-spiced to near-dynamite.
  9. Shopping:- Shopping in Sri Lanka can take many forms: haggling with a
handicraft-seller while sunbathing on the beach; choosing fruit from the traditional village store, the kadé,while side-stepping sacks of rice;or checking out the bargain-priced latest international fashions (Sri Lanka is a major garment exporter) while enjoying the ambience of a luxurious shopping centre in Colombo.

  10. Cultural Heritage:- Sri Lanka’s cultural depth is recognized by UNESCO, which has declared six archaeological World Heritage Sites in the country:
    • The sacred city of Anuradhapura
    • The ancient city of Polonnaruwa
    • The golden temple of Dambulla
    • The ancient city of Sigiriya
    • The sacred city of Kandy
    • The old town of Galle and its fortifications
