Maharajas’ Express flagged off for new tourist season

Signalling the beginning of its first journey of the new tourist season, the world’s leading luxury train, Maharajas’ Express, started its journey from Delhi station on a royal odyssey to take its patrons across the famed ‘Golden Triangle’.
A signature enterprise of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the train, known for hospitality and off-train excursion, runs on five circuits across north-west and central India, covering around a dozen destinations, mainly in Rajasthan, between the tourist months of October and March.
IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director Dr AK Manocha, who was present at Safdarjung station from where the train steamed out, said plans are afoot to run Maharajas’ Express during the off-season too (April-September) with some concession.
“During the lean season, we may offer one free ticket for every single booking. Thus, a couple can board the train by buying one only one ticket,” he informed.

The three-night / four-day trip, known as ‘Treasures of India’ will offer the guests an opportunity to explore and experience the rich cultural heritage of Incredible India, including the Taj Mahal, mighty fortresses and exquisite palaces (in Jaipur) and the Ranthambore National Park.

During 2014-15, 1,144 passengers boarded the train in 33 trips with a total income of Rs 47.89 crore as against 865 passengers in 28 trips and an income of Rs 36.27 crore in 2013-14.

With exquisite interiors, state of the art amenities and impeccable hospitality, Maharajas’ Express has four cabin configurations—Deluxe, Junior Suite, Suite and President Suite.

“There are many distinct features that set Maharajas’ Express leagues apart of its contemporaries. It commands huge brand equity in the world,” said Dr Manocha.

Besides ‘Treasures of India’, the four other circuits of the train are: the eight-days / seven-nights The Heritage of India (Mumbai, Ajanta, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra, Delhi); the eight-days / seven-nights The Indian Splendour (Delhi-Agra-Ranthambore-Jaipur-Bikaner-Jodhpur-Udaipur-Balasinor-Mumbai); the eight-days / seven-nights The Indian Panorama (Delhi-Jaipur-Ranthambore-Fathepur Sikri-Agra-Gwalior-Khajuraho-Varanasi-Lucknow-Delhi); and the three-nights / four-days Gems of India (Delhi-Agra-Ranthambore-Jaipur-Delhi).

Things You Should Never Wear When Traveling Abroad

While you are traveling abroad you plan various things to do and not to do. Many a Time you also Plan what you will wear and what not. With our experience with our various International Group Tour. We have observed many of our first time travelers face problems while packing their bags. So, here we have listed down what you should wear while you are traveling Abroad.

Safety should be a key consideration no matter where you travel, and part of staying safe in an unfamiliar place is dressing to blend in. You should not not dress to stand out.  Pack your Dress keeping in mind local customs and attitudes, as well as religious beliefs. This will help you avoid causing offense to locals or becoming a target to thieves.

It's wise to dress conservatively in any country you are holding deeply religious views, such as those in the Middle East. Mostly Women should avoid miniskirts, tank tops, bra tops, short-sleeved shirts, shorts and sometimes even capri pants. You should avoid revealing dresses and cleavage-bearing necklines. Men should avoid shorts and sleeveless tops in many Middle Eastern countries. Pants and long skirts are safe for women. When in doubt, stick to long sleeves, and men, keep that chest hair concealed.

While Traveling any where it's generally wise to stick with closed-toe shoes. If you are wearing formal shoes wear polish shoes. Don't carry shoes which are in Bad condition. Its advisable to women also to wear close shoes. If You are going abroad and want to explore place you need to walk. So, its advisable to wear comfortable Shoes rather High Heals shoes.

Shorts

Yes, while going for vacation we love to wear shorts, but some other cultures - such as Indonesians and Vietnamese -- don't wear them for everyday walking around, no matter the season or how close they are to the equator.

Flashy Jewelry

Never wear expensive, flashy jewelry abroad. We most of the time while going out pack expensive jewelry. You should wear less jewelry when traveling abroad. Wearing heavy jeweler can cause problem. Since there's probably no need to impress anyone that much on your trip abroad, leave the valuables at home.

Religious Imagery, Curse Words or National Flags

Avoid clothing sporting religious or military symbols, swear words, national flags and any words or symbols written in a language you cannot translate. There's no need to unintentionally spark an emotional debate while on vacation.

Bright Colors

Unless loud colors or bold patterns are the norm in your destination, consider sticking with conservative hues like navy, blue, tan and gray. Look put together, opting for classic, well-fitting clothing. You want to blend in, not draw unwanted attention to yourself (and nothing does that better than a neon tank top).

Inappropriate Colors

In the Western world, we may wear black to wakes and funerals, but in parts of Asia, white is the funereal color -- good to keep in mind on the off chance you may be mourning someone's passing while on holiday. Meanwhile, stay away from wearing black or blue in central Africa; these are the favorite colors of large, biting tsetse flies.

Jeans

Jeans are increasingly popular around the world, so they don't scream "Tourist!" the way they used to. That said, they should fit well and be wrinkle-free. It's even better if you opt for black or dark blue jeans. Baggy or ripped jeans are frowned upon in some cultures, and they may look disrespectful if you wear them into churches, mosques or other holy sites.
If you're traveling to a warm and/or rainy climate, consider alternatives to jeans; they don't breathe well and take a long time to dry, making them impractical for many itineraries.

Backpacks

Planning to spend the summer backpacking across Europe or Southeast Asia? Then a large backpack is practical and probably a better bet than a roll aboard suitcase for lugging onto trains and traveling between destinations. But bring a secondary bag, like a small fabric tote bag that can be worn across your chest, for everyday touring around cities. Any kind of backpack, big or small, may mark you as a tourist while you are Traveling to Europe Holidays or Southeast Asia Holiday. They're also easy to reach into and steal from if you're wearing one on your back on a busy bus or train.

Cameras

This advice isn't workable for pro photographers, but casual shutterbugs should snap a photo or two, then put the camera away. Nothing screams tourist like a camera permanently hanging from your neck. Not only do you stand out, but you may also get targeted by thieves. Carry a camera or smartphone that you can fit into your small bag.
