9 Essential Tips To Follow When Packing For A Trip

As much fun as it is to go for vacations, packing is a pain in all its glory. From space issues to remembering each and every essential item, the process of packing is anonymous to a living nightmare for all of us. Worry no more, with these handy tips packing your bag is just a matter of a few minutes of investment.

Wearing the bigger gear

Instead of carrying the heavy gears, wear them to reduce luggage weight and save space! Wearing a heavy long jacket or a pair of boots saves you space for 3 more t-shirts and small knick knacks!

Packing Cubes

Easily available, they come in a set of multiple storage cubes. Keep your dirty shoes separated from fresh clothes or pack categorically to save the time in finding a needle in hay (sic). Same goes for your makeup items and toiletries. Put them in a pouch to make life easier.

Tiny Storage Bottles

Carrying a 500ml lotion bottle to a 3-day trip is completely unnecessary. With the lotion bottle, a woman will have 8 more that follow, resulting in a mayhem of storage issue in the bag. Buy storage bottles of small capacities. Transfer your product into these and voila! This hack is a boon in the name of travel hack!

Hairdryer

An unlikely entry, but this serves as a multipurpose tool when on trips. Not just for your hair, this comes in handy when you have to urgently dry a sock or an undergarment.

Medicine Container

Use these as storage boxes for your jewellery and enjoy a hassle-free time on your vacation.

Extra Care for Liquids

To prevent the horrific ‘accidental shampoo bottle explosion’ or dripping of any sort, just cut a small piece of plastic wrap and press them under the cap of your bottle for air-tightening it. No more drips!

Roll and stack

Keeping a rolled piece of clothing saves more space than a folded one does. No need to worry about the wrinkles; a properly rolled cloth does not leave any wrinkle on it. Make your bag more compact with this easy hack.

Check and Pack Rule

The thumb rule to packing is to make a list, sort individual item into stacks according to the list and all you are left with is putting them in the bag. This prevents haphazard packing and leaves no chance of forgetting an item. A checklist comes in handy even if you are in a rush and do a hurried packing at the last moment. A list, check, pack and set off!

Know what is essential

There may come a time when because of storage space, you may have to leave behind some of the items. Essentials on the priority list of the most necessary ones for the trip are what finally make it to the bag.
Minimalistic packing is the key to an organized travel bag. Keep it simple and cut out the burden of packing with our list of simple hacks!

The best way to look forward to a new year is by planning your travel and making a bucket list. But it can be tough to pick a place when there are a million possibilities. So, to make your life easy, we recommend these 10 beautiful destinations that have something for everyone:

1) Bratislava, Slovakia: This 18th-century town is known for its lively bars and cafes. It is inexpensive compared to the rest of western Europe, making it the perfect destination for budget travellers. There are mountains dotted with hiking and cycling trails and it’s a pedestrian-only town, which makes it ideal for long romantic walks.

2) Marrakesh, Morocco: Called the ‘Red City’, Marrakesh is magical any time of the year. Explore the souks, gardens, palaces, and mosques in all their historic glory. It’s a shoppers paradise with markets filled with traditional textile, pottery, and jewellery.

3) Fiji: Made of 333 picture perfect islands tucked away in the South Pacific, Fiji is an ideal destination for a tropical beach holiday. There are many activities on offer — sky diving and dirt biking, to river rafting and scuba diving.

4) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Head to this buzzing city to experience Ethiopia’s rich culture and traditional crafts. Visit the National Museum where prehistoric fossils are on display. When in Addis Ababa, drink a macchiato at Tomoca Coffee, share a plate of injera, and soak into the Ethio jazz scene.

5) Jamaica: This Caribbean island is a pretty hot honeymoon destination. Most of its resorts are clustered in Montego Bay, known for its British colonial architecture. The birthplace of reggae music, it’s home to the Bob Marley Museum.
6) The Azores, Portugal: These islands are known for their dramatic landscapes, fishing villages, and blue hydrangeas. Recently, air restrictions to this region were eased, which means more choices and cheaper fares. So, book right now.

7) Yokohama, Japan: Known as the second largest metropolis, Yokohama is just a 20-minute train ride from Tokyo. It’s got the appeal of a bayside location, interesting architecture, microbreweries, and good food.

8) Tasmania, Australia: This island state is known for its wilderness, extreme temperatures (something you’d not associate with Australia) and many parks and reserves. Visit Hobart, its capital for Georgian warehouses converted into galleries, open-air museums, and picturesque landscape.

9) Finland: Travel like the star couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli to Finland, which is the perfect destination for an end-of-the-year travel. During December, it gets converted into a winter wonderland. You can chase the Northern Lights, or stay cosy in front of a fire.

10) Šolta, Croatia: Croatia is made of over 1,200 islands, but travel between these was cumbersome. However, now with the introduction of UberBOAT in 2018, it is easy to navigate around the pristine beaches and medieval villages. Šolta is known for its seaside bars, open-air restaurants, and beach clubs.
